On the recipient end of Secure Send, users are given the choice (based on server settings) between downloading a file or viewing it in their web browser. If you choose to enable in-browser rendering, the recipient can also utilize a feature called Web Application Open Platform Interface Protocol (WOPI). WOPI integration allows for access and changing of remote or cloud-based stored files.
The “In-Browser Rendering” function can view multiple file types natively, as well as convert other supported file types into a PDF format for viewing. While many file types are capable of being rendered and viewed this way, only .docx (2007+ Microsoft Word), .pptx (2007+ Microsoft PowerPoint), and .xlsx (2007+ Microsoft Excel) file types are capable of taking advantage of WOPI. The following list goes over the file types by extension capable of being displayed in-browser.
